Rose where do you live ? I just came into contact with a copy of : the Descendants of Johann Adam Forney. 1557-1963.

I am sure you can find copies in the library - This came from the Warren Library. References also to Mahonging Co. Youngstown, Ohio library also.
In the Preface_
This name so honorably known in America, emanates from several emigrant heads, all undoubtedly traceable to the ancestral family seat of Ferney, a town in the Department of Ain, on the border of France, near the city of Geneva. The name occurs prominently in French History. Some of this name of the Huguenot faith forsook their native land, because of the religious persecutions, and located in
Switcherland and the Palatine immediately adjacent; from whence they came to America. It is a significate fact that nearly all the immigrants of this name came in the company of Huguenots. While we are not prepared to say that all Forney immigrants were of Huguenot antecedents, it is established beyond a doubt that Peter Forney Sr. who came to Lancaster Co.prior to 1733 must be designated as one. the descendants of Peter preserve many traditions of their Huguenot antecedents.

Hope this didn't confuse you.
