I am a great grandaughter of Jeannie (Jennie)Forney Foster, daughter of Peter J Forney and Mary Elizabeth Burkholder. Peter was born 15 August 1828 and Mary Elizabeth Burkholder born 2 December 1832. They were married 30 August 1853. In addition to the children you listed, there was a Charles Edwin, born 1854 and died 1854 and an Albert Mace, born 1855 and died 1861. Wilson John was born 1 March 1857. Jennie Louise, born 18 November 1858; Frank Elmer, 17 August 1862; Enos Ralph, 21 January 1864; Suvinah Burkholder, 18 Januaary 1868; Edith May, 12 February 1869; Martha Mary, 30 July 1871; and unnamed son, 23 May 1873. He died 5 June 1873.
Both Peter J. Forney and Mary Elizabeth Burkholder Forney are buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
I have worked extensively on this Forney line this past winter and have contacted most of the descendants of the Peter Forney children listed above. Exception would include any descendants of Frederick Forney.
Wilson John Forney, Jennie Louise Forney Foster, Vina Burkholder Forney Jackson, and Martha Mary Forney Jackson all settled in or near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Frank and Enos lived in the NW corner of Iowa. Edith married George Wiltse and lived in Randolph, Nebraska, until his death and then lived in Omaha and San Francisco.
Would like to hear from your friend. I've been keeping my Forney cousins updated on the narratives I've compiled and would like to add another cousin to the list.
