I don't think so - but I appreciate your input!

My mom said her dad's name was "Sam". Now in this family, that could mean anything.. it's amazing how many family members used a name that was not actually thier given name. I have cousins named "Pete" and "Sam" who are actually "James" and "Wayne". So who knows?

but in the 1901 directory of Columbia and Montour counties, there is a Samuel R. Forney. That's the right location, right time frame, so I am going on the assumption, for now, that this is the "Sam" I am looking for.
