Forneys were early settlers in the area of PA now known as Dauphin County, PA at one time part of Lebanon County. I am descended from a Francis Forney and Susanna Eberly. Their son Jacob b. 1794 married Hannah Bollinger. They had a daughter named Elizabeth b. 1836, coincidentally the year following your Elizabeth's death. Jacob also had a son Francis (Frank) b. 1827 who was my great grandfather and lived in Middletown, PA. This is a pure guess, but perhaps your Elizabeth and my earliest known Forney relative Francis were brother and sister. These families all lived in the Middletown and Hummelstown area, now part of Dauphin County, PA. The Lutheran Church in Middletown, PA was founded in the 1700s and the Forney family were members.
