Also, the Jacob Forney who took ill has been identified as NOT being a son of Count Pierre de la Ferney, as claimed by some. His birth was on 4 Oct 1721, his parents were given as Jean Jacques Pharny and Barbe Schelaster or Barbara Schlecty... they were married on 1 Dec 1720 and in 1728 Jean Jacques was cited as a godfather [src: France Births and Baptisms 1546-1896, C05020-6. Call #727366, LDS website]. Jean Jacques Pharny was perhaps a son of Johannes or Hans Farny & Magdalena Drasseler or of a Johann Peter Farni baptism/christening date: 07 Jan 1691, Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin, France, whose father's name was Hanss Farni and mother's name was Elsbeth Kisslig. [src: France Births and Baptisms, 1546-1896]. My mother studied several languages, including German, in school but she died in 1984 and I've not spoken to my first cousin who studied in Paris & Switzerland for a good 20 years before even then. Mom died in Jul '84, Uncle Ken in Aug '84, and Uncle Bill in Jun '98.
