Forson DNA

My Forson uncle had a free dna test done for genealogy purposes at This company will send you the dna packet and even pay the postage back to them. They are trying to assemble a large dna database. It's totally free to you. The results might not appear on their website for a year or two because they do their testing in batches, but it will eventually show up. They use your last name only and only show your ancestry tree prior to 1900 so no one living is identified. As an incentive, they were also sending a $95 coupon toward a 26 marker dna test at Relative Genetics, which my uncle also did. From this test we learned that our Forsons were originally from Scandinavia and not from the British Isles as we thought. It's easy, interesting, free and fun. As more Forsons participate, we can tell if we are branches of the same Forson family.
