Rosaline Forkner Jones- Ky., Ind., Kans.
Does anyone know of Rosaline Forkner, my great grandmother. She married Thomas Jones in Montgomery Co., Kentucky July 24, 1844. Thomas' Civil War pension records state they were married on this date "on the Red River in Kentucky by Rev. John Horn". I know that Thomas and his mother moved to Montgomery Co., Ky. between 1835- 1840. I find that the Red River flows through Montgomery Co. and there were three Forkners, James, Jonas, and Henry, who bought land in the 1830s described as located on the north fork of the Red River. I think that one of these Forkner families is Rosaline's but haven't found anything to tell me who the kids in these families were. Rosaline was born about 1826 in Kentucky according to the census records. She married Thomas Jones and they moved to Putnam Co., Indiana by 1850 and 1860. They moved to Montgomery Co., Ind. by 1870 and 1880 and then to southeastern Kansas by 1885.
If anyone has heard of my Rosaline I would appreciate hearing from you. I have looked for her family for years but have never found anything to tie her to any other Forkner's. She always insisted that her name was spelled with a 'k' as in Forkner but I have looked at all spellings and still never find a Rosaline. Any help would welcome.
