Fortner/Faulkner/Falconer, Ford, Spencer, Tipton, Posey, Mason, Washington, Ball
Pemelia Ford wasa the daughter of Capt. James Ford and wife of Prince George, Md probably related to the Fords, Chews of Anne Arundel Co, MD, and a descendent of Thomas Ford Quaker immigrant from England to MD in about 1652.
Permellia's parents were killed by Indians in 1776 in SC. The children were rescued by members of another Ford family. Sister Cassandra Ford married William Ford (of this other Ford family whose father was John T. Ford SR (Judge in SC) who had migrated to SC w/his family Rachel Spencer (daughter of Nicholas Spencer). John T. Ford's daughter Elizabeth married first Philip Ford another son of Capt. James Ford. After Philip's death, she married a Prince in SC. Other Children of Capt James Ford were possibly Zadock of MD/SC, John, James.
Besides William, Other children of John T. Ford Sr were John T. Ford Jr, Elisha m/Sarah ONeil, Samue,Jesse, Spencer, Edward.
John T. Ford Se was the son of Thomas Ford of Old Stafford Co, VA m/Jane Milstead. John T. Ford's sister was Ann Ford m/ John William Posey, along with other sisters that marrid Simpson, Jacob, and King in Old Stafford Co/Fairfax.
The Thomas Fords of Old Stafford/Fairfax Co, VA were neighbors of John Posey, George Washington, Daniel McCarty, and George Mason of Fairfax Co near the Potomac River. Thomas Ford's father ws JOhn Ford of Old Stafford/Richmond Co, VA. John's father and grandfather were also named John Ford of Richmond Co, VA.
It is highly suspected that the Fords of Richmond Co, VA and Fairfax Co, VA (who first appear in VA about 1650) are related (ancestry) to the Fords the migrated to Ann Arundel Co, Herring Creek (Immigrant Thomas Ford (1652 father of John, James Ford). James Ford was the father of Thomas Ford m/ Leah Price) and later of Baltimore (John Ford m/Ruhannah Howard and Stephen Ford m/ Rebecca Howard, Mordecai Ford, Thomas Ford m/ Charlotte Cockee Dye, William Ford, and Benj Ford who m/Rachel Tipton, and Loyd Ford of Md and later Eastern, TN. It is thought that Capt James Ford descends from these Md Fords. DNA results exist for these Md Fords. It would be beneficial if a male ancestor of the Old Stafford CO, Fairfax Fords would submit DNA to the Ford DNA project to determine if these two Ford groups are related.
John T. Ford Sr (beother of Edward Ford of Fairfax Co m/Keith later moved to Bourbon, KY, was the ancestor of Antonia Ford (confederate spy) who m/Williard of Washington DC, who were the ancestors of the wife of Kermit Roosevelt, son of President T.R. Roosevelt).
The Spencers (Elizabeth, Jesse), William Washington (cousin of George), John W. Posey, Kings, Ratcliffs, Masons (probably cousins of George Mason IV's father), Howells (Joseph), moved from Virginia to Anson County, NC and Spartanburg, SC about 1768 to land grants that originally fell in NC until the NC/SC state line was extended west when some land was found to fall in Spartanburg, SC. Later divisions and formations of Counties found these Fords to have land in Newberry, Laurens, Union, and Greenville Co.
John T. Ford Sr and some of his sons/daughters moved to Shelby Co/Henry Co, KY about 1796, where he died. Some of the Prince family moved to WNC, ETN. Faulkners can be found in NC, ETN, MS.
It is suspected that some of these same VA/SC Fords also moved to Western NC (Buncombe, Haywood Co), ETN (Cocke and Blount Co), Jackson Co, Alabama, Walker/Winston Co, AL, Benton Co, Arkansas; Montague, Co, TX). The McCarty family name may have changed spelling to McCarley and moved to Villa Rica, GA w/members of the Chambers (i.e., James and Phlip) family from MD, VA, SC, and WNC. Members of these same Chambers family can be found in Blount Co,(TN, Haywood Co (NC) Buncombe Co (NC), and Oconee Co (SC). The McCarley/McCarty family can also be found in KY, MS, and TX with Ford and chambers descendents). Other families associated with the Fords including Chambers include Tiptons (Ann Arundel Co, MD, and Washington Co, Tn, and Jackson Co, AL), Monteiths/Mantooths (Richmond Co, VA, and East TN), Fondren (SC, AL), Bridges (VA, Cabarrus/Rutherford/Buncombe Co, NC), Chambers (MD, VA, SC, NC, TN, AL), Swaims (SC, NC, AL), Best (SC, NC, AL), McMullin/McMillian (SC, NC), Hayes, SC, NC), Rogers (Sc, NC), Coles (MD, VA, SC, NC), Ratcliff (MD, NC, SC), Posey MD, VA, SC), Balls (VA, SC, NC), Lewis (VA, SC), Butlers VA, NC), Browns (VA, SC, NC).
Mitchussen family were from MD and moved to SC and to KY w/ Fords, etc.
Faulconers/Faulkners (m/MD Sarah Elizabeth Ford (another descendent of Thomas Ford the MD immigrant of 1652) produced descendent William Faulkner)
