James F Fortner and Jeremiah "Jerry" Hensley
Posted by: Sally Henson (ID *****6692) Date: November 02, 2008 at 19:07:27
  of 1616

James F. Fortner married Emma Smith on 6/19/1892 in Cass County, MO. Jeremiah Hensley (his first cousin) married Emma's sister, Josie, on 6/16/1892 in Cass County, MO. Josie and Jeremiah had a son they named James Emmett (after his aunt and uncle, I presume).

Jeremiah died in 1899. On 1900 census, Emmett, son of Josie & Jeremiah is living in household with James and Emma. No obit available for Jeremiah - he is buried in Moudy Cemetery. No death or cemetery info found on Josie.

On 1910 Census, Emmett still living with Emma - James is absent on the census so assuming he died. His death would have occurred possibly around 1908 based on birth of his daughter, Vonna. Emma remarried later to a McGuire.

Am hoping to find any information on the demise of James and Jerry and Josie. THANKS!

Sally Henson
