Andrew J. Fortner in Walker County, Georgia - 1850 Census
I have been looking at a Census record I have of my Great Great Great Grandparents Richard Boatman and wife Mary Caroline(GARRETT) in 1850. In this 1850 Census I'm speaking of, they lived in Walker County, Ga and in their household was a 15 yr. old boy named Andrew J. FORTNER. Trying to figure out the connection and why this Fortner boy was living with them. Then oddly enough later on in MO, in Wright County, ten years later a young man named Jackson Fortner was living with another Richard Boatman and his family. Now this Richard Boatman in 1860 in Wright County who had the Jackson Fortner living with him, well this Richard was a cousin to my Richard Boatman who lived in Walker County, GA in 1850. Just find it strange and trying to figure out who this young Fortner was and how and if he was related to either my Richard Boatman in 1860 or to my Richard's wife Mary Caroline GARRETT-Boatman. If anyone has any info. please let me know. I will check back here to the Fortner Genforum to see if I get any replies. Sorry but I don't post my email on the net anymore due to the many spammers out there.
Thanks in advance,
Tami Boatman
