Maj. William Fortson ca. 1836 mention

Not much happening on this board so I thought I would throw this out. It is an online manuscript at Southern Methodist University titled "The Diary of William Fairfax Gray From Virginia to Texas 1835-1837". There is a very brief mention of a Maj. William Fortson who traveled aboard the steamboat "Levant" with the author. This may be old news to some but thought I would furnish the link in case others haven't seen it. The link should take you directly to the index. Maybe there are some other surnames of interest. Either way, it makes for some interesting reading and gives a first-hand account of what it was like to travel in the 1830s.

Hope it works.
