Please read message # 67. Jeptha M. Fortson m.Margaret Elizabeth Riley Oct. 3, 1871 recorded in Book C, page 140 of the PANOLA CO.Tx. records. Jeptha and Wife Margaret Eliz. lived in Gregg Co.Texas through 1910 Gregg Tx. census, and Jeptha signed for CSA pension application in 1912 Gregg Co.Tx. which was rejected by Texas.
Jeptha had sons John W. b. 1873, d 1899; Thomas M. b. 1875;

Two survived to adulthood.
Jepthas sisters were Nancy( m. Briggs;) Martha( m.Romby;) Victoria and Pamelia. I have no information on any other than Nancy Briggs. No sons were born to Jeptha and Margaret Fortson. That is about all I know. The Fortson lines are dying out. I would really like to find the date of Jepthas death. Appreicate any help and thanks to those who have already done what they could on this. Carol
