Hello,
Was just reading the book, A Family History,Lt.Thomas Fortson and some Decendants, when I found your message.I'm borrowing it from the library. Also its by,John Wright Boyd. There is so much in there about the family you're researching, that I'll start with some info. Tavner,Tavnah W. Fortson 1802 m.Catherine D. Tate 12-2-1824,then Elizabeth D.Tate 9-13-1827. Parents were Richard and Lucy Fortson. moved to Harris County,Ga. where Richard died 11-2-1836. His will says,Tavner W. Fortson, should not pay interest on the notes that I hold against him, but to pay the principle amount.
