i am a descendant of the fortson's my great-grandmother was mary lou fortson married willie johnson stubbs, there are none of there children alive, i have a few pages someone in the family had got that were copied from a book named a family history Lt.Thomas Fortson 1742-1824 & some of his descendants early settler of elbert coutny ga found at the athens regional library in athens ga compiled & published by john wright boyd,tignall,wilkes county ga. it has richard easton fortson (11-20-1824--2-19-1897, born elbert co son of thomas fortson & elmira kinnebrew married 12-23-1841 lucy jane campbell 6-23-1827--5-26-1906 staes he served as a confederate soldier during the civil was they are buried in the cemetery adjoining the presbyterian church, danielsville,ga also states lucy rode a mule from danielsville to richmond,va. and stole her husband from a federal prison during the war between the states.
