Is this the Simon Foscue of Craven Co who married Nancy Mitchell as his second wife? In "Memoirs of the Foscue Family,1559-1805". It is stated that Simon Foscus' first wife died, and Simon, in middle age, chose Miss Nancy Mitchell. It stated "Her mother was the daughter of Alexander Mitchell, of Craven County. Her mother, Mrs. Alex Mitchell, was the daughter of Jno Dudley, Sr.. There were four Dudley brother, viz., John, David, William and Bishop, all of whom lived in Craven Co., and thus we find the second wife was well connected." Unfortunately, no sources were given for any of the information.
I am wondering if instead of Miss Nancy Mitchell it should have been Mrs. Nancy Mitchell. I think in the above a generation of Alexander Mitchell was left out. I would appreciate any help with this that you can give me.
