Hello Margaret:
My gt grandmother was a Mary Ann Fosker - born at Monks Eleigh.
I think that 'Elizabeth Hardy' was the third wife of John Ffoscue.
Firstly he married - unknown but possibly 'Abigail' and had John and Abigail and a child who died young. When she died he married 'Widow Prigg' and had 'William'. When she died, he married Elizabeth Hardy. Have you seen a copy of John Ffoscue's will? Also there is a Will of 1620's which mentions John Foscue and his son John Foscue - the 'son' is probably the one who left the will in 1675.
Also when 'Will Kemp' danced from London to Norwich in Feb 1700 - its recorded he stopped at Sudbury and spoke to a 'Mr Foscue' - who was a 'walker of great repute'.
Hope this is of interest - have more information if you are interested.
