I have found new information on Richard Fossaker, while investigating Hester "Charity" Fossaker. Here is what I have found documented. Your Capt. Richard Fossaker who married Mary Withers was the son of Richard Fassaker who died June 16, 1676 while he was on board the Raphannocke, Merchant bound for England. He left his will in Virginia, but left an additional will while on board the ship before his death. His will was proved July 24, 1676. This Richard Fossaker was a Sheriff in Stafford County, and he left his children in VA, one was his son Capt. Richard Fossaker, and several other children; one being a daughter Hester Charity Fossaker. Because of the same name, the elder Richard Fassaker has been mixed up with his son. So "my ancestor Hester Charity Fossaker" was sister to "your" Richard, not his daughter. If you would like to know where I found this info please e-mail me and I will send it to you.
