There were some pictures of John Foster, and his house(a very lovely white Victorian) at the Antique Center(Katy Rd, Houston, TX) where I bought the old land title. He was a lanky old man with a long beard. Also some pictures of some ladies dolled up in costumes for a Ball of some sort. I did purchase a picture of Central Park in New York which seemed to be part of his personal papers, and a cherished trip. I wish I had purchased more; but I don't know whether I am connected with this Foster line. The elderly gentleman that ran the shop figured me for a sucker, and was asking too much for each old photograph. If I had known the house burned down I would have bought them for sure. I hated to separate the pictures from the land title but the way they were laid out on the table guaranteed the old papers wouldn't last long. It has been a year are so but I might try to see if he is still holding the pictures. Is this your family? There were some Fosters in Stephen F. Austins "Old 300". There is a old pioneer Cemetery off highway six, not far from the Sugarland, TX airport. Their is a Foster Family buried there that were part of the Stephen F. Austin Colony.I don't know about whether he fought in the battle of San Jacinto. There were a lot of men that fought there, that have been lost to history.
