PARKER, MOLLY FAY
PARKER MOLLY FAY was born to Clyde and Dora Foster in Sweetwater, Texas, on April 3, 1920. Surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren singing jubilant praises and worship to God, Molly went to be with her best friend and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 9:00PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2001. In a single moment a talented composer and singer transitioned from a choir of her own legacy to a host of worshippers in heaven. As a child, Molly lived in various West Texas towns and graduated from Eastland High School. After graduation, her family moved to California and she met and married Brownie Parker, September 3, 1939, in Bakersfield, California. They had 5 children between years of 1948 - 1955. Molly was a faithful member and leader of women in the First United Pentecostal Church of Bakersfield. A very strong testament to Molly's matriarchy is that all of her children are currently involved in ministry in the Christian faith. She moved with three of her children, when they were college age to St. Louis, Mo. She accepted the position as Dean of Women at Gateway College of Evangelism from 1969 - 1972. During this period her children were known as "The Singing Parkers" and she traveled with them extensively. She then moved to Stockton, California and was Dean of Women at Christian Life College from 1974 - 1978. Many students and young people looked to Molly as a spiritual mom and kept in contact with her for wisdom and guidance. Molly exemplified a strong Christian woman who lived for her children. In 1979, she moved to Seattle, Washington, to help her son, Joe, establish New Heart Worship Center. She ministered there for over 20 year's. She often visited, giving support, to her other children who built and pastored churches in La Grande, Oregon, and here at Covenant Church of Carrollton, Texas. Molly is preceded in death by siblings Kathleen Swindell, Marguerite Terry, Charles Foster, James Foster, and Elizabeth McAlister. She is survived by one sister, Patsy Myers, Auburn, Washington. There are 5 surviving children and their Spouses; Mike & Kerry Parker, Carrollton, TX; Sally and Tim Ayers, Double Oak, TX; Kathy & Mike Hayes, Carrollton, TX; Joe & Jean Parker, Federal Way, WA; & Jess & Robin Parker, La Grande, OR. Molly has 18 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A formal viewing and visiting will be held at Sparkman-Dickey Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas, Thursday, between 5 - 9PM. Memorial Services will be held at Covenant Church, 2644 E. Trinity Mills Road, in Carrollton, on Friday, August 24th, at 2PM. She will be buried in Seattle, Washington. Flowers are certainly welcomed, however, a fund for single moms has been established in honor of Molly Parker, the greatest single mom. It is called the Molly Parker Foundation For Single Moms.
