Hi Rachel

i am researching the Fothergill name for the people we are house-sitting for.

Bill advises he came to Australia in 1969 to Queensland and worked as a metal worker in Brisbane until his retirement three years ago. He was from North Shields near Newcastle prior to coming to Australia.

I do not believe there is any connection to your family despite the commonality of names. Research is a frustrating game at the best of times so I do wish you well in finding out more information.

If you ever come across anything to do with Fothergills from the north of UK then I would be interested to hear - I think they were connected to mines there.

regards
