I am interestested in John and Mary Jane Fothergill, landlord and landlady of the Farmer's Arms in Scruton, N. Yorskshire. They were my g. grandparents. They had children named John, Anthony, Tom, Annie, Fred, Harry, Arthur, Mary and Ethel. Fred was my grandfather.

Fred was a farm worker in Kirkby Fleetham and then moved to Tanfield Lee in Co. Durham to become a miner.

Any information about the family or why Fred went to the Stanley, Co. Durham area would be most appreciated.

Can anyone go further back in time?
