Further to my last message Thomas is probably son of Jonathan and Mary see IGI, however the information dies out around 1700 when the Kirby Stephen Parish registers cease. There are however a number of wills for the period in Carlisle County Record Office and the Fothergills were in Mallerstang before the Sixteenth Century. By the way Bridget Fothergill is a member of my family as I have a Thomas and Mary having children at the same time
