Native American geneology?

Hi, my name is Marie, and what little I know about my family is that we were Huegenots that came over as indentured servants to Virginia...one of my relatives fell in love with the daughter he was indentured to, causing a huge scandal, so they set out west. I guess we fought in the French Indian War and were fur trappers..Recently, a friend said that she saw my name on a Metis geneology list, but she lost the e-mail address. Does this family have any Native American connections?
