Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Check with your local community college and see if they offer a basic course in genealogy. The on-line ed2go.com has an excellent course taught by Bob Moyer that you can take through community colleges for a fee.

HP.com offers a free course so check that out. Your library and local genealogical society might also be able to help.

Good luck.

Anne
