To all my Fought relatives; My name is Scott A. Jacob. I am the grandson of Dorothy Jane(Fought)Braithwaite-Davis, and the son of Sue Karen(Braithwaite)Jacob-Merce. I have been cleaning the proverbial spiderwebs from the dusty shelves and gathered up my family's Fought branch ancestry, along with many others, and started to put it together for a project of personal epic proportions. I know and see how many have already done what I would consider to be "most of the work", but many stories and legends have yet to be recorded! There's the heirlooms and artifacts that need to be documented and identified! There's the pedigree paper trail and clarification to be put with the right persons! There are the photographs, etchings, sillouettes, and portraits, many split from their rightful families, that need identified, copied, and shared! There are the physical buildings; barns, houses, cabins, churches, gardens, etc. that we identify stories and people with, that need documenting, and there's the final missing pieces we all have that need to be put into place so fiction can become truth. I wish to share and gather information of the types mentioned above for the following families: Michael Fought III, William H. and Margaret (Druckenmiller) Fought, their children's families; the Burkett's, the Carnicorn's, the Horn's, and the families of Calvin T., Edward A., Jesse B., and Horatio A. Fought. Also the connections and relations to: Hohenstein, Beier, Michael, Kittle, Berelekamp, McClure, Sherer, Schwan, Hoffman, Yarnell, Hutchinson, Dickinson, Eck, Wagenseller(Wagenseil), Claar(Klor, Khlar), Barman, Kern, Havens, Speller, Smith, Imes, Mooney, Dupler, Snyder, Hoffman, McGrady, VanNess, and more down the line.
As I realize that many of you who are related to these families and names may have already done the work on your end, I would welcome the sharing and combining of our common ancestry so that we can all be a little more complete with our stories. For those of you I already know, and for those I don't, I am interested in having at least one photographic image of each family member back to the 1860's if possible. If you're like me, my grandparents, and my immediate side of the family in general; we don't throw anything away! We may have some of your stuff and don't know it!
The Foughts are made up of some of the finest and earliest families in this country, and I don't want to loose that heritage and pride if for nothing else than my own family's sake. If there's someone out there more ambitious and resourceful than I who has their "Foughts in-a-row" already, then I will send you all I have!
In honor of my great-grandparents Dale and Clara(Claar)Fought, and on behalf of my grandmother, Dorothy(Fought)Braithwaite-Davis, I dedicate this project! Thank you all in advance for your generous participation!

Scott A. Jacob
