I am a ggg granddaughter of John Woolfolk Foushee (1825-1870) and Martha Elizabeth Fontaine (1799-1861). I understand he descends from John H Foushee (1749-1829). I am looking for solid information on John H's ancestors. Any leads on ancestors prior to VA settlement? My distant cousin (Fount Foushee Jr) and I are also researching the family fallout between the Fontaine Lewis Foushee (1849-1919) family and the rest of the Kentucky/Arkansas Foushees. Any leads?
