Lydia Foust was my g-grandmother, the second wife of Samuel Ross, who died in 1894. Last residence was 99 Cliff St. in Pittsburgh, Pa. She also went by Eliza or Elizabeth. They were married around 1870. Their residence at the time was in Bairdstown, Westmoreland Co., Pa. I've been told that Eliza was the family housemaid at the time of Samuel's first wife's passing. Her name was Mary Penrod. She died between 1869 and 1873, after the birth of their third child and before the birth of Eliza's first. William Ross's family located in Blacklick Twp., Indiana Co. as early as 1826, moved to Bairdstown around 1842, and then to Pittsburgh in the 1850's. They began as carpenters and barnbuilders and ended as railroad men while in Pittsburgh.
I'm much interested in learning of the family of Eliza Foust and would greatly appreciate anyone's input.
