I am trying to document my husband's lineage to Jacob Foust/Charity Kivett. I believe his line goes Jacob, Christian (b. about 1774 in NC); John (b 3/19/1800 in NC); Sarah Evelyn (b.1848in MS).
There seems to be some question about Christian, his wife's name is unknown and I have no death date. I have him In Chatham NC in 1802, then he disappears from NC, not on the 1810 census in NC. It is assumed that the family came to TN after 1812. One of his children, John, b 3/19/1800 is the father of my husband's great grandmother, Sarah Evelyn Foust, but I don't know which of his 3 wives (Sarah Mays, Edith Smallwood or Mary Elizabeth Lee) is the mother of Sarah Evelyn. The family records I have indicate Edith Smallwood, but other sources say Sarah Mays (which makes more sense since her name is also Sarah). What do you have from Jacob down??? Also, is the father of Charity Kivett named Peter??? I have the "Faust-Foust Family in Germany and America" book, which is what I am using as a source to do research, but family writings contradict some of it. You can reach me direct at I would appreciate any help in getting this documentation correct. I know that Jacob, his father and brother were all Revolutionary War Patriots, and so was Peter Kivett, and want to get the application completed correctly.... Thanks, Arlene Montgomery
