In about 1861 the Foutch brothers began their migration from Findlay, Hancock Co., Ohio to California. The three brothers that I have info on are James Jr., Abraham and John. There are several decendents of these men with the name William Jefferson Foutch so keeping them straight can be a real problem sometimes.
James Foutch Jr. was reportedly born about 1830 and died Nov 20, 1902 in Lower Lake, Lake County, CA. He married Mary Lefebre, born 1834 in Ohio. There children were: William Jefferson who married Lucretia Knighton; James III born 1857, Ohio; Albert born 1859 in Iowa; Laura born 1861 in Iowa; Catherine Naveda born July 10, 1862 in Virginia City, UT, enroute to California (it was Utah Territory then); Lauretta born Sept 13, 1873 in Lake Co., CA; and Henrietta born Sept 13, 1873 in Lake Co., CA and died July 1893. No names matching yours from Abraham.
John Foutch was born in 1835 (we believe in Hancock County Ohio. He married Samantha Swisher in 1854 in Hancock - she was born 1838. John and Samantha had 12 children - with William being their sixth child born 1862. William married a Bridget Skahill. Their three children were: Frank who married Ruth Kaiser - John, who married Loretta Jones and - Mable (1895-1984) who married Bernard Mahar. After Birdie's death William married Alice Dorsey in 1904 and they had four children. William and his family ended up in Iowa. If any of these names or dates help you let me know and I can hopefully help point you in the right direction.
