The only early Joseph I can think of is one in the 17th century. I think his name was on a land transaction in early Virginia, but I never saw anything else about him. The Duke of Otranto was named Joseph Fouche. Hiss biography said that the eldest child in the family was always named Joseph. they had a shipping business, and two estates in the Caribbean. their shipping route was from Nantes (their home) to America, to england (with cotton, sugar, and tobacco, I suppose. Since Nantes was the center of the slave trade, I suspect they were also involved in that.
Our family bible stated that our family came from Brittany.
P>S. Meriam: I sent off the newsletters today. Since I did not see your request for Isaac's military record until tonight, I don't think I included it. Let me know if it was included. I did enclude family group sheets. If you can add dates and places or correct mistakes I have made, I would appreciate your input.
