Vicki: I do believe your Julia is a sister of my Grandmother Lena Berling, whose parents are Sebastien and Mary (Wolf/Wolfe) Berling....and a Sister to Elizabeth (Berling) & Julius Bohn, who married in Peoria and went on to Wamego Kansas.
However, I know for a fact that "Berling" handle is not right....Sebastien came from Alsace Lorraine France, and his German pronunciation of his name----some norsky census taker couldn't understand his German and wrote it down as Berling! He is also found under Birling/Beerling. The name should have been "Burlen".
They settled in Milwaukee area when first coming over here. I have some information and a few pictures of Eliz & Julius's family in Wamego. I also have several generations in France, but I cannot locate the old couple= as to where they are buried over here...do you know?
I am not a subscriber to genforum, and had been trying to run down another contributor of a tree that had these names in it and was unsuccessful, til another kind feller seen your note and passed it on to me. my ads is groves@coldreams.com would be very interested to see what we have going here....sure looks like a connection.
happy new year !
grove
