Thanks for the information.However, this appears to be a different line than mine.As far as I have been able to determine, the William Fowlkes I'm looking for moved to N.C. from Wythe, VA somewhere in the 1840's and married Elizabeth Tolliver.His son James Tolliver Fowlkes is my great grandfather.To confuse things, his cousin William moved to the same area about the same time and alos had a son James who died during the civil war at Vicksburg.To add to the confusion both Williams spelled the name Fulks until sometime in the 1850's.My William moved to Indiana in the 1850's and his farm was taken over by another cousin, the other William's brother, who also married a Tolliver who was a first cousin of the wife of my William.This has left me at kind of a dead end, though I have some suspicions going back further.
Unfortunately, I don't have any information on the line you are researching.Thanks again for replying.
