James Foxworthy, Culpepper Co., Va. 1780

hi, i am new to this forum. i am seeking information regarding my 5th great-grandfather, James Foxworthy, b. @1780 in Culpepper Co., VA, m. Lucinda Tippett, also of that county, in @1799. Their children were: James Fracis Foxworthy, born January 30, 1800, and two other sons that my family recalls in its records. they are believed to be named Elijah Foxworthy and Phillip Foxworthy. I am a direct descendant of James Francis Foxworthy and Charlotta Odor (her father was Jeremiah Odor) through their son, James Edward Worthey and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Warren.
The family story goes like this: at some point after 1824 the three brothers of this second generation (James, Philip and Elijah) migrated to Millwood, Guernsey Co., Ohio. It is unknown whether their parents joined them. However, the three brothers headed west from there separately - one is believed to have settled in Indianapolis on the White River in Monroe County; the other was thought to have settled in St. Louis, Mo. My 4th great-grandfather, James Francis Foxworthy, settled in Jasper County, Illinois (Newton, Illinois). At least my line of the family discarded the "Fox" from their last name while in Guernsey Co, OH and thereafter became known by the last name of "Worthey." It may be the case that Phillip or Elijah changed their name to Worthey, also, we don't know. There remains a pretty big spread of Worthey's in the Newton area, many of whom have subsumed into the William J. Gass lineage, of which I am one. I've also noticed there's a pretty big spread of Foxworthy's over on the western border of Indiana, and I've always been curious as to whether the local Foxworthy's (I live in Indianapolis) are related.

This is alot of information for this posting, however, most of the information I have regarding the eldest james foxworthy and his wife is directly from family records. my records are much more expasive on their descendants, and i would certainly be glad to share them with anyone interested. If anyone out there finds this story familiar or has any light to shed on the ancestors of James Foxworthy and Lucinda Tippett of Culpepper Co., VA, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. it has been very difficult to find anything verifiable with such sketchy information.
