I have Anne/Anna FOY (1805-) who married KANE (-1840), had son James KANE (1836-1934); (KANE was also likely named James); they appear then in Lake Co IL, USA census, 1850, but husband KANE is not there, just Ann/Anna and son James.Later, this James KANE married Margaret L. "Maggie" FOY (1841-1921)Maggie was his 1st cousin. In 1850 Anna FOY KANE lives in household of brother Patrick and his wife Catherine MANLEY/MUNNELLY. Patt and Catherine were married in Co Mayo, likely in Claremorris. Daughter Bridget's baptism record is given as Knocks-Backmore Parish, Civil parish Kilcolman, and family address is "Carramore" Co Mayo. There were FOYs in Claremorris area, Knock, and north of Killala. Is it possible that your FOY & KANE families came from north of Tuam?
