Hello Chris,
I wanted to respond to you because I think possibly there may be a link between us. I live in Arizona now, but was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.I can remember my father and uncles discussing the Norman ancestry also and we have always pronounced our name Foe -Zard. My dad and uncles also said this was the anglicized version of the French name.My father was Stanley Fozard from Leeds, Yorkshire, England. He immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was about 12 yrs. old. I remember being told that he had another brother who did not come to the U.S. with them. He stayed with his uncle Mark in England. My grandparents were Fergus and Minnie. He had a brother, Norman Fozard, who I believe had a son named Richard who lived in Australia. His other brothers names were Cecil and Reginald, and he had a sister Elsie.I only met Richard once when I was a child. I used to spend summers with my uncle Norman and one summer Richard and his wife Sheila visited. It was a complete surprise because I had never known that I had a cousin Richard.I don't remember ever hearing any more about him.But the summer he came to visit stuck in my mind all these years.I have a brother, Harold. My father was married several times and has 3 "sets" of children. We are the middle set.My older half siblings are Ronald, William, and Virginia. My younger ones are Mark (Fergus) and Chandler. I have 2 children -Christine and Wesley. They are respectively ages 31 and 22.I also have a 9 year old grandson - Tyler. Please feel free to email me if you think there is any link between us.My email address is [email protected]
