I'm impressed, Denise, which how much data you have collected and shared on line. Were you the "I" who found the three volumes of the records for the Hillsboro Church of Christ on Little Blue River "by Nellie Harvey" which had been in a barn in Hillsboro, Prairie Twp., Henry Co., IN? I just had photocopied many pages and one complete volume of those church records which are in Henry County Historical Society as they misplace or have misplaced items in their museum and library, so I was unsure how long the volume would be on the correct shelves for viewing and copying.

I knew Nellie Harvey prior to her passing, but when she was quite elderly and living with her sister, Zola. She were kindly helped me with my Harvey, Fraizer, Cannaday, et al lines and gave me an autographed copy of The Cannaday Family History which was written by someone else and has some errors.

I am trying to locate Janet Morris Bush's genealogy papers. Janet died in 1985, and I have contacted her son, Walter who lives now near Knightstown, IN. He said he would look through the feww papers which he ahs from his mother's research. He doesn't know what happened to many of them. Janet and I had corresponded many years ago. Janet was President of The Henry County Historical Society, but they do not have her research papers. Janet is the one who told Tom Hamm that Eli Fraizer b. 1786 Randolph Co., NC who married Mary Jane McFarland and then died in 1831 with "the first headstone in the Messick Cemetery" was a veteran of the War of 1812. When I called Tom years ago to discover where he found the info that Eli was in the War of 1812, he said Janet had told him, and she was so thorough in her research that he knew it had to be true. In her obit, Janet was reported to be a member and/or officer in many genealogical and historical organizations. At this point, I can only hope one of those organizations has a copy of her proof as to Eli Fraizer's War of 1812 service.

Hershell Ankrom, Jr, now 75 and living in Henry Co., IN has quite a few papers on the Fraizer line as his mother, Minnie, was a cousin and close friend to my maternal grandmother, Luva Marie Whiteley Irvin. The note about "Jane McF Fraizer's - her sister, married great uncle Eli Fraizer (Lucinda) of Iowa Des Moines" was written by Hershell's mother on the back of a time card. It's the kind of thing that some people just throw away, but fortunately Hershell, Jr. had saved it and allowed me to look through his mother's genealogy notes and papers.

Hershell, Jr. is also the one who introduced me to Julia Fraizer Hamlett of TX. She lived to almost 90 years old, and she traveled and researched in NC, TN, and other states where the Fraizers lived. I think she was the first to meet Bruce Frazier of TN who lives near our Fraizer Mountain in TN. bruce is a descendant of our same Fraizer line in TN near Dandridge. He and Hershell, Jr. talk by phone quite often, and check out the veracity of info about our Fraizer history. Hershell, Jr. is trying to contact Julia Fraizer's surviving daughters in TX to see if either one of them would check their mother's research papers for references to Eli Fraizer's War of 1812 service. It is kind of him to help me pursue this proof as he knows I wish to document it for my membership application to Daughters of War of 1812.

Could you tell me how you found Mary Jane McFarland's birth date and place in PA? I think you wrote that her marriage to Eli Friazer in 1810 in OH has not been found, but how do we know it was in 1810? My James H. Fraizer was born Nov. 14, 1819 in OH as theri son. Were there other children of Eli and Mary Jan McFarland Fraizer born in OH, and is there a Bible record?

I live in Bloomington, IN near where I teach in Brown Co., IN. Can you tell me where you live, Denise?

Please keep in touch.
