Frederick Fraley

I am a descendant of Frederick Fraley. My eon grandpa was Reuben Fraley and Margaret Flannery Fraley. My lineage winds to Margaret Peggy Fraley who married James Watkins and on to my granddad and dad.
There is a description made by my great Uncle Marvin Hollingsworth that Margaret Fraley was a slim little woman, eyes dark asa thief, hair as black as coals.
My dad had olive skin, black eyes and hair as did most of his siblings. Please, does anyone know if this is mulutto? features through the generations, possibily connected to the Melungeons. Has anyone found census records that will prove my guess?
