Ramona:
I have no definite proof of Martha "Patsy" Fraley's parentage. Her death certificate states that she was born 4 Jul 1804, and that her parents were Isaac and Kate, no last names listed. I originally had no idea of her maiden name, but because one of her children was named Freily, I eventually put the pieces of the puzzle together. I don't remember where I got the confirmation that her maiden name was, indeed, Fraley, but I know that I've had that from more than one source.

The confusion comes, I believe, because her marriage record lists her as "Patsy," which is a nickname for Martha. I believe that some researchers have assumed that the marriage record of John Day to Patsy Fraley on 17 Aug 1820 in Floyd county is that of Patricia Fraley. I'm convinced that it's Martha's marriage record for many reasons, including the fact in June of the following year, John & Martha Day's first child was born, named Isaac.
