The information I have is that William Frampton [the one associated with William Penn] was a knight, but I don't know of what Order.
If this is true, then geneological information might be available through:Secretary to the Earl Marshal, The College of Arms, Queen Victoria Street, London EC4V 4BT, England.A fee may be required for the research, but their information will be A-100% accurate, as this is the official office of heraldic registrations for England; knights, as members of the gentry, are entitled to register their heraldic armory.Geneological information was collected as a standard, as it determined rights of inheritance of arms [and titles, if a baronet or above].
I also hear that this other organization can help:Achievements Ltd., Northgate, Canterbury, Kent, England CT1 1BA.Likewise, they may charge a fee.
My source recommends, "Always send an international reply coupon, available at your post office, with international correspondence. It allows the party corresponding with you to purchase stamps for return postage."
If you decide to give it a try, let me know how it turned out.Good luck!
