Thanks for the reply. I think you may be right. I had seen the info you sent but never made the connection, in part because I have an old handbill that William McCullough posted after Elizabeth Frampton's death in which he sells his household goods and also a house and property of 2 acres with stables and orchard in 1899.
I had assumed that the picture was taken on that property. Recently, I found the reference to the "McCullough House" in the 1887 book but still didn't stop to think that maybe that was a different property than the one sold in 1899. However, looking at the picture, location of the road signs, etc., it is obvious that the house was located more or less on the road, which is more likely for something on a 60 x 100 lot than on 2 acres, I would say.
Worth looking into! I wonder if it is still there today?
