I am a descendant of Antoine Wolff who was my grandfather. He was in the Russian Imperial Diplomatic Corps and was Consul General in Chicago, Ill when the revolution broke out. He was born in St. Petersburg and was a descendant of a Baron Wolff of Germany. He changed his name to Volkoff (Russian for Wolff) during the First World War. Family tradition says the family was descended from a Countess de Belle Orange of France who fled north during the Protestant prosecutions and married into the Baron Wolff family. Is there anyone who could help me shed some light on any of this? Any help will be most appreciated.
