I been trying to do some research in Klotten, Germany and I'm falling short. The internet doesn't have anything on this town. Does anyone know anything about it? What I'm looking for is records that I can do research in (ie census, directories, ect.) and was it ever in the France’s rule? The reason why I asked if it was ever under France's rule because maybe I need to then look there for my family info too. The person that I'm looking for is

John Frank Thomas b. Jan 1840 in Klotten, Germany and died 6 Nov 1866 in Iowa he md Abalona Eckhardt b. 26 Apr 1838 in Gluckstadt, Germany d.12 May 1925 in Rapid City, Pennington, South Dakota, United States

Any info on the town Klotten, Germany would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you,
Angela
