I am in the USA looking for information for my mother-in-law about her French grandparents and great-grandparents.
Her paternal grandparents were George Frederick Duroy and Della Mae (Purney) Duroy. Both were born in France. George was born July 25, 1840. He died July 13, 1922, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, USA. Della was born in 1852 and died July, 1925, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, USA. They married June 7, 1881, but I don't know if they married in France or the USA.
Her paternal great-grandparents were James F. and Catherine (Sharpie) Duroy, married September 6, 1837 in Alsace Lorraine, France. He was born December 28, 1810, in Alsace Lorraine, France and died June 13, 1884, in Stryker, Williams County, Ohio, USA. She was born May 27, 1814, in France, and died September 6, 1887, Stryker, Williams County, Ohio USA. I would appreciate any information on this family.
I would also appreciate information on the Sharpie and Purney families.
