Born in Schenectady, the son of Henry France and Lillian (Burchard) France Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Winifred (Fichtner) France, married Oct. 21, 1945; a son, Allan H. France of New York City, a daughter, Linda R. Cuthbert of Duanesburg; a brother, Glen A. France of Gloversville.
