This is my first posting to the genforum for Loiselle in over a year. I have new information perhaps someone can use and I also am in need of information.
My grandmother was Josephine Marie LanCour b.April11, 1921 in Cheboygan, Michigan. She married Arthur Bell of England and settled down in Saginaw, Michigan.
Josephine was the daughter of Henry LanCour (pure Chippewa Indian) and his wife Catherine Wezell. I know that Henry was born in Michigan but all I know about CAtherine is that she was born in Canada (I know her dates of birth and death)and that her parents were Robert and Millie Loiselle. The spelling seems to change for Catherine and her mother but not for her brothers and father.
Millie died in Flint, Michigan Feb 1931. Robert may have passed in Cheboygan. Robert and Millie Loiselle( Wezell)had several children:
Catherine Pearl (my grandmother)
I have all of their birth certificates now except Robert the father and Mary because I believe her married name was France ( Will France ).
I am hoping that someone knows the place of birth for Robert(the father) and Millie.
I have many relatives still alive that would share info but I need help finding the place in Canada where Robert and Millie were born and where they lived...please e-mail if you know this family...some family friend or relative names were also...Massey, Bouroussa, LanCour, France. All lived near Cheboygan area and then the Loiselle's going by Wezell much of the time ended up in the Flint, Michigan area. We are hoping to find pictures of Henry and Catherine LanCour and their decendents if possible and their birth records..most likely in Quebec, Canada or possibly France.
I would also like to know where in Canada Catherine, Robert, Ernest, Nelson and MAry were born. I know that Peter, being younger was born in Cheboygan, Michigan. All of his siblings have born in Canada on the death certificate...We just need to know where in Canada.
