Norrid Franceway (from Washington Co., PA > Kentucky Territory about 1783-85) married to a daughter of Lawrence Roelofson, Sr. (Sorry, folks, no first name here)but she was b. abt 1764 in Washington Co., PA and died abt 1810 in Henderson Co., KY. She and Norrid had 2 sons: (1) Abraham (b. abt 1787, probably around Vienna (now Calhoun), KY). No marriage or children recorded for him. (2) Joseph Franceway (b. 1795, either in Vienna (Calhoun) or Henderson Co., KY). Joseph married Keziah Bivinan Boone (b. 1/5/1810 and d. 4/4/1876). No marriage date available.
Norrid served in Capt. Jonothan Wallis' Co., 2nd Battalion, Washington Co., PA Militia. An order to rendesvous is dated 4/18/1782. The KY Hist. Soc. May/1927 lists Norrod Franceway (famous hunter of the times). The Register of KY Hist. Soc., Vol. 3, Bk 67, records Norrid Franceway assessed for 6 head of cattle.
I have biographical information for the Roelofson's but nothing else for the Franceway family.
Contact me at rcnkc@compaq.net. Thanks, K. B. Cook
