Hello, I have Frankensteins for cousins in Michigan. Do you think there's any connection? They later changed their name to Dipple and now live in Michigan.
If you check the Jewish Societies in Ontario, Canada, you'll find references to families there around 1900. This family would be probably from Baden, Prussia, Mechlenburg, or possibly Volga, Russia. Another thing, if religion or ethnicity is an issue, if they were Jewish they probably would not have traveled under that description because of religious persecutions in that era. They may have even been Mennonites if from those areas of Europe.

Let me know if I can help. It's rare to find them in records, but have Frankenstein in Mich. phone books today; Oakland County.
