Thank you for the quick response.I would be greatful for any information on the Franklands you would be willing to share. I would be pleased to receive an email from you at with the attached files or communiction of your choice.

You have asked for more information on the Franklands in Texas and I have very little to offer.

According to my Uncle Lee Hardgrave, the Franklands came to Texas from South Africa to start a Bank and Ship building business. They settled in Smith Point a small town accros the bay from Galveston, Texas. There was a connection to New York state. Cousin Emily visited the Hardgrave Ranch in Terrell County Texas from time to time. The Ranch was my childhood home.

.....2. Janie Marie Lee 17Nov1894- 18Oct1918
........+Earl Wylie Hardgrave
.........3. Jack William Hardgrave
............+Ruth Griffin
.............4. William David Hardgrave

The connection to the Franklands is through Maria. A record shows Sir Fredrick William Frankland (8th baronet) marrage to Eliza Kirby 26 Oct 1817 York, Yorkshire. Could Maria be their child?

Kind Regards,
David Hardgrave
