I am writing a book on Sir Charles Henry Frankland, who assumed the baronecy on 17 April 1747. I would appreciate information on the whereabouts of any primary material dealing with his life and times. I have read his journal in the Massachusetts Historical Society archives, the difinitive biography by Nason, and a hand-written pedegree from Yorkshire. I am particularly interested in his remarkable escape during the Lisbon earthquake in 1755.
