James & John Frankland, 1779, NC
Posted by: Jim Franklin Date: April 01, 2001 at 15:00:24

I am looking for any information at all regarding James and John who in 1779, each claimed 100 acres of land along Fries Creek in Surry, later Stokes and today Forsyth County, North Carolina. The Frankland's listed in 1780 Surry County Personal Property list, Horn's District, were James, John, John, Malacay, and Edmond. James and John listed in 1787 Surry County, NC State Census. 1790 U.S. Census, Stokes County. Last name changed to Franklin. I am looking for the parents of Walter Franklin who married Susannah Wright, 15 Sept 1789, Surry Co. I have no idea who Walters parents were, date or place of birth. Walter and Susannah also lived along Fries Creek
